Manager, Strategic Intelligence
G3 is seeking a sharp, resourceful, and ambitious individual to join our growing Strategic Intelligence team in New York. We are looking for candidates with at least three years’ experience in law, finance, consulting, corporate strategy, strategic intelligence, government, or comparable environments.
G3
G3’s Strategic Intelligence practice advises business leaders and investors on the decisions that matter most to their organisations. We work on many of the world’s most significant transactions and corporate movements, advising on M&A, regulatory and policy matters, and senior appointments.
Clients turn to G3 because they need a clearer view of a commercial risk, a regulatory environment, or a senior individual, and because they value the independence and discretion of our work. As a manager at G3, you’ll work with some of the world’s leading private equity firms, top law firms, and the largest global companies.
The Role
The successful candidate will be based in G3’s New York office, running client engagements predominantly focused on North America.
In any given month, they might be assessing the commercial risks attached to a target in a multi-billion-dollar transaction, mapping the political dynamics that will determine whether a piece of legislation passes, or building a considered view of a senior executive.
Much of this work is done through G3’s network – a global community of contacts cultivated over many years, whose perspective and access make our advice possible. Managers learn to draw on the network and, over time, contribute to it.
The subject matter of our engagements varies widely, and Managers are expected to move between sectors, jurisdictions, and subject areas they may have had no prior exposure to.
How we present our findings is central to what we do, and our advice is delivered in writing and on calls with our clients’ deal teams, legal teams, and C-suite. We hold ourselves to a high standard, and we expect Managers to be articulate, precise, and confident communicators.
What we are looking for
We do not hire for a single profile, and our work benefits from a range of perspectives. Typically, strong candidates:
- Have high levels of commercial awareness and can quickly understand a company’s value chain, corporate governance and commercial and regulatory risks. This is underpinned by a strong grounding in US politics, business, and current affairs.
- Are investigative by instinct: curious, persistent, and entrepreneurial in finding what they need.
- Have high emotional intelligence and sound commercial judgement, quick to grasp what a client is really worried about and confident in advising them on it.
- Have a strong academic background and demonstrable interest in writing and learning.
We also look for people who want to be part of building something. G3 is a growing firm, and the people who thrive here not only deliver excellent client work but also help shape the firm itself.
What We Offer
Managers are a core part of G3. They lead client engagements, developing their advisory and client management skills. Over time, they take on responsibility for complex client engagements and run small project teams.
The route from there is to Associate Director, where the role broadens to carry greater responsibility for running high-stakes client engagements and managing small teams.
We invest in our people with formal training programmes and regular feedback to support our team’s professional growth and career ambitions. Our team includes experienced professionals with backgrounds in law, consulting, finance, government and strategic intelligence and investigations. We work in a collaborative and intellectually engaging environment.
As G3 expands, so do the opportunities for responsibility, progression, and involvement in shaping how we do things.
Our Benefits
- Salary: competitive, based on experience
- Flexible working balance of home and office
- Comprehensive private medical insurance
- Life assurance
- 25 days of holiday per year in addition to public holidays
